Today, Jon serves as President of Peek Brothers Painting, overseeing day-to-day operations and helping ensure every project reflects the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and customer care.
But his journey in the painting industry started long before Peek Brothers.
Jon’s painting career began in 1996 while he was studying business and communication at Seattle Pacific University. During college, he operated a successful student painting franchise, where he quickly learned that quality and integrity weren’t just good principles. They were good business.
When customers receive excellent service and trust the people working on their homes, they’re more likely to recommend that company to friends and family. That early experience shaped Jon’s belief in building a business through quality, trust, and referrals.
After a brief venture into the Phoenix, Arizona real estate market, Jon relocated to San Diego, where the next chapter of his career began.
In 2007, Jon saw an opportunity to bring more sustainable, eco-conscious practices to the contracting industry and founded PaintGreen.
He grew the company into one of San Diego’s highest-rated eco-friendly painting companies while continuing to focus on the values that had guided him from the beginning: quality workmanship, customer service, and integrity.
That experience gave Jon a deeper understanding of what it takes to build a trusted local painting company and lasting customer relationships.
In 2022, Jon partnered with Peek Brothers Painting, bringing the two companies together around a shared commitment to quality and service.
Today, Jon leads the day-to-day operations of Peek Brothers Painting, helping coordinate the people, processes, and standards behind each project.
While homeowners see the finished walls, trim, cabinets, and exteriors, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to make those results possible. Jon helps make sure preparation, communication, scheduling, craftsmanship, and customer care all work together.
For Jon, quality isn’t simply about how a home looks when the final coat is applied. It starts with doing the work correctly from the beginning.
That means taking preparation seriously, using appropriate materials, paying attention to details, protecting the homeowner’s property, and following through on commitments.
Just as important is treating people with respect.
Homeowners are trusting a painting company with one of their most valuable investments. Jon believes that trust needs to be earned through honest communication, dependable service, and work that the team can stand behind.

Jon’s work extends beyond the painting industry. He is the co-founder and Executive Director of CoLab, a nonprofit makerspace that helps empower local artists and makers by providing access to advanced equipment and creative resources.
CoLab reflects another side of Jon: his passion for making, building, and helping other people bring their ideas to life.
When he’s not working or involved with CoLab, Jon enjoys hiking, backpacking, kayaking, adventure motorcycling, disc golf, and creating his own art.
Jon’s career has taken him from running a painting business while in college to building an eco-conscious painting company and eventually becoming President of Peek Brothers Painting.
Through all of those chapters, the same principles have remained at the center of his approach:
