At some point, it becomes necessary to paint a bathroom — it may be that you have just recently redesigned the space and so it was necessary to change up the walls, or it could very well be that your old paint is starting to look worn and you need to paint in order to get the bathroom looking right again.
Whatever the case may be, an important part of painting any room (including your bathroom) is picking an appropriate color — of course, you can just pick one at random and hope for the best, but that is almost guaranteed to make for an odd-looking bathroom unless you are quite lucky.
A color wheel is at its heart a physical (as in a paper disc) or online (via a website usually) way to choose a nice color or to think about the various colors that are available to you.
One use of a color wheel is to choose colors when you are painting the interior of your home — you can see all of the more common colors that are available to you when you are looking to paint (if you have a physical wheel) or just about any color that could be available if you are looking at an online color wheel.
Of course, if you are looking at a color wheel sponsored by a paint company, you’re going to see a lot of paint colors that are specifically only available from that company!
Another way that you can choose a good bathroom color is to look at the floors of your bathroom, tile wise (hopefully you are not part of the rare group of people who chooses to have a carpeted bathroom for whatever reason) and to think about what color or colors would match that color (or those colors if you have multiple colors for your tiles.)
Since it’s considerably easier to change up the look of your walls, paint-wise, than it is to change the look of your floors, it is so much easier to choose an appropriate paint color for your walls that will go with your floors.
Sometimes one of the easiest ways that you can do for choosing a color for your bathroom is to think of the various colors that you find to be aesthetically pleasing and to choose one of them.
Of course, you still have to have in mind the floor and how the color will look in contrast to the floor and ultimately how it will look in the bathroom as a whole
Before you choose a color for your bathroom, it’s worth thinking about how that color is going to affect your mood.
Certain colors have an effect on your mood — some of them are going to pep up the level of the energy in the room, for example, and some of them are going to be a downer as it were.
Whether or not you want to change the level of energy in a room is entirely up to you — it is ultimately your bathroom.
Lastly, it’s worth looking at the trends that are happening for the year when it comes to painting your bathroom.
Though this might seem like the least fun of the options as it were, there are times when this is the most practical – if you are thinking about the value of your home, for example, it is probably better not to go with a color that would be considered overly ‘outrageous’ as it were.
