When it comes time to paint your kid’s bedroom, one of the most important things that is going to come up in the decision making process is the color paint that you are going to use.
There are many colors from which you will be able to choose, but fundamentally you are going to have to choose at least one or two colors for the bedroom.
Brown is an atypical color to be considered for a child’s bedroom, to be sure, and yet it can work if you find the right shade of it.
The important thing when you are using brown for a child’s bedroom is that you need to remember that there are many shades of brown that are nature like, and to try to also incorporate things related to nature in the room as well.
This will help to bring together the idea that the brown that you have chosen is related to nature more than anything else.
Blue is a color that people will almost always associate with nature, probably more so than the brown — and the really nice thing about blue is that there are so many shades of blue that can be associated with nature.
There is a blue that is like the color of the sky on a particularly cloud free day, as well as the blue that is the color of a perfectly clear lake or another body of water.
Of course you might think that this color for a kid’s bedroom would only be appropriate if you have a girl but that is not at all the case.
The history of the association of pink going with girls only goes back less than a hundred years, so if you have a child that is particularly fond of the color you can of course throw it on the walls and allow your child to enjoy them.
An interesting color combination for your child’s bedroom walls is yellow with black — and the question is whether you are going to do more yellow than black.
Typically people will associate yellow and black with the colors of a hornet or a bee.
You might even use a largely yellow motif with just a bit of black to go along with it and contrast with the yellow.
Much like blue, green is a color that you will be able to think of in terms of its relation with nature.
These can be things like a nice green from a shrub or even some of the leaves on the top of a tree before it starts to turn to fall and goes to yellow brown.
If you don’t want to go all the way into painting a kid’s bedroom white as that seems too plain, yet you don’t want to go too far in the other direction with a color that will be too far out there, you can go for eggshell.
Eggshell is a nice color that is neutral and is not all that far from white — and yet it is distinct enough to separate itself from other colors that are possibilities for the kid’s bedroom.
Lastly, if you are thinking about making one of your kid’s bedroom walls a bit different than the other walls in the bedroom, you might want to think about using chalkboard paint for such a wall.
This can be a fun exercise for you and your child or children as a good chalkboard wall can be an interesting thing to have up — with a variety of chalks from which your child can choose, the choice of decoration is just a matter of what gets drawn.
