When you’re thinking about updating the look of your kid’s room, one place you might not even consider is the ceiling — as you might look at the ceiling and think it’s a boring thing that can’t possibly get a better look.
What you don’t know is that there are many ways to get your ceiling looking better, some of which will give your child something to look forward to seeing every night before going to bed.
Waves can be an aesthetically pleasant thing to look at, particularly if you like the look of the ocean.
The question then turns to the question of what kinds of colors you are going to want for your waves — you don’t have to paint your waves the color of the ocean, after all.
It’s nice to consider how different colors will complement one another as you put together the waves for your kid’s ceiling.
A nice look for your kid’s ceiling can be something as simple as stripes — and they can even be just two colors, ideally two colors that your kid likes more.
There are two things that you have to bear in mind when you are looking to do stripes on the bedroom ceiling — what colors are you going to use, and how thick will the stripes be?
The thing is, you don’t have to keep to one stripe thickness — you can alternate thickness on the ceiling and keep it interesting.
Another nice way that you can paint your kid’s ceiling is to look at doing a sort of checker pattern, which can look nice and also give the more creative minded kids a way to play games on the ceiling.
You don’t have to go white and black for the pattern, either — you can choose from a number of colors and might even consider two colors that are similar but not quite the same.
If you and your family like to spend nights going out and looking at the stars and even looking for things like shooting stars, your child may enjoy looking up at their ceiling and seeing shooting stars.
Shooting stars don’t have to be overly complicated as far as a ceiling design goes — you can have a fairly simple background with a nice color and then overlap it with a white or even golden shooting star.
Another rather nice thing for your child to look up at in terms of ceiling artwork is the ocean.
The nice thing about painting the ocean is that you get to not only paint some of the more relaxing colors out there but you also can paint some nice sea creatures as well.
You may be thinking that we already covered this in the shooting stars suggestion, but this is just a little bit different.
Imagine if you will going out at night and looking at the various stars that make up your night sky — and now imagine what it would be like to be able to look at your ceiling and see such a sight.
One interesting alternative to doing this is to forego painting your ceiling any kinds of different colors and getting a set of plastic glow in the dark stars that are attached to the ceiling — at night they glow and make the room look amazing.
Lastly, consider some of the characters that your kid likes — whether they come from a favorite television show or movie or comic book.
Take one of more of their favorite characters and think about painting them up on the ceiling — or even look at getting peel-able stickers with the characters already printed on them.
