Jessop's Clock Restoration

We at Peek Brothers Fine Home Painting are really proud to have made a San Diego landmark look like new again – the Jessop’s Clock in Horton Plaza, San Diego. This 102 year old clock had not had a major refurbishment in years and required extensive preparation and fine finishing with extensive gilding with 23 carat gold leaf to bring it back to it’s former glory.
You may remember it at its old location, downtown on 5th Avenue. Well, a few years back, it was moved to the main level at Horton Plaza. We were given the opportunity to completely refurbish the exterior of this San Diego icon. It had been years since any extensive work was done. After encasing the clock in scaffold, we went to work. Preparation was key to a successful outcome for the smooth sprayed finish and the extensive gilding with real gold on all the highlights!
