When you have a house, it’s a good idea for you to periodically do some work on your roof — whether this is in the form of making repairs to your roof or cleaning it, and even if it means that you pay a contractor to do the work if you just aren’t up to it, if you’ll excuse the pun.
You should make an effort to avoid making certain errors while in the process of doing so, especially if you are personally the one who will be doing the work.
While it’s true that pressure washing can be quite a fantastic way to get things clean as evidenced by the many videos that one can find online testifying to this, it’s not going to be something you should use when you are trying to clean your roof let alone your tile roof.
You can do quite a bit of damage to a roof and break off pieces of it, which is quite against the very nature of what you are trying to do.
It is better to use a simple soap solution and then rinsing it off with a low-pressure water system, such as a traditional hose.
There are many films in which people go up ladders to access the roof only to have accidents because they did not steady the ladder first.
It’s funny when it happens in movies, but it can be downright tragic when it happens in real life.
The better thing to do, of course, is to have a friend or colleague to hold the ladder steady, so you reduce the risk to you even further.
The top of the ladder has its place (pun not intended — this is not meant to be a joke about how the place for the top of the ladder is on top), but it’s really not meant for you to just stand on it long term.
Rather you can step on it and perhaps get up to the roof if need be, to steady yourself.
When you’re up high doing work on your roof, whether you are cleaning or doing other kinds of work, you might just see that you have some branches that are possibly in the way.
The mistake you could make is to just leave them there as doing so could allow the branches to ultimately cause damage to your roof, particularly if there is a strong wind storm, and the branches sway back and forth in it and hit your roof.
The appearance of debris on your roof can be rather quaint, but it can actually be rather damaging if you leave it up for too long.
While you don’t have to run up to your roof every time a leaf falls on to of it, the sooner you can get it cleaned off, the better.
As great as the cleaning solutions can be for cleaning your roof, it can be downright disastrous for your plants.
The thing to do is to protect them by covering them with a plastic sheet after misting them to keep them moist.
When you use cleaning solutions on a very sunny day, you are looking at a disaster.
Instead, save your roof cleaning days for cloudier days — you won’t see your cleaning solutions evaporate quickly and therefore be significantly less effective.
