It sometimes happens that you have finished painting an interior room of your home, and you realize that it would be a good idea to inspect the paintwork you have performed.
It’s also entirely possible that your need to inspect the interior paintwork relates to the fact that you have had someone do the paintwork for you, and you now need to make sure it was done to your specifications.
Of course, you’ll want to be able to see the paintwork well, and that entails making sure that you have a good source of light.
The best way you can inspect paint is to use natural light — but if you don’t have that access to you, you’re going to need artificial light to help check out the interior paintwork.
The more light you have, the better — and of course, if you have to floodlight that you can move around as you inspect the work, it’s all the better.
You should be able to run your hand along the surface of a well-done paint job and not feel it to be bumpy or lumpy at all.
Rather, you’re going to want to feel the paint’s smoothness that indicates that time was taken to prepare the surface meant to be painted properly prepared to ensure that it would be smooth.
There are numerous approaches that a person can take to see that you have gotten a well-done paint job.
To be sure that the coverage gets everything, you’re going to want to start on one side of the room and make your way to the other side, going from top to bottom (or bottom to top) to see that the whole room was done well.
A good sign that something went a bit wrong with your paint job is that you will find paint drips.
A well-painted room will have had the paint applied to the walls and the windows and other places, of course, but it will not involve leaving stray paint drips.
The paint drips that you find means that they were overlooked in the painting process.
If you have a room that should have had its walls painted, there are a number of places where you should not expect to see paint — and if you do see paint, you’re going to know that something went wrong.
For example, the ceiling should not have any paint on it if you didn’t want it to get painted.
Seeing paint means that the person or people who painted did not make sure to prevent paint from getting there.
Another sign that you have a paint job that needs to correct or done anew (in the absolute worst-case scenario) is to check over the surface of the wall and find that there are holes and dents there.
The presence of these means that care was not taken to repair the dents in some way and to fill and sand the holes before the painting process.
It doesn’t take much thought to realize that paint alone cannot fill in a hole in the wall, let alone repair the damage done by a dent.
If the interior was originally an entirely different color, you’re going to want to make sure that you can no longer see it.
Though it may sound strange, if a paint job is not done well, you will still see the old color’s signs under the new color.
