A relatively new addition to the houses of today (compared to more such traditional rooms such as the kitchen and the living room etc.) the gaming room is a nice addition to the house where you can as you can imagine have a good time playing games with your friends and family.
When you want to improve the look of your gaming room, there are some things you may want to bear in mind that are going to make easier to do so, on the topic of painting (which can radically give the room a whole new look!)
One thing you’re going to want to do when you’re painting your game room is to make sure you fully clean the room in advance.
There are some who might suggest you can just cover everything with tarps and you’ll be fine but it’s better to first clean and especially to clean the surface that you’re painting – otherwise you’ll have a messy paint job when you have finished.
As will be mentioned later, cleaning will get the surface wet most of the time and you will have to wait for the surface to dry before you move on to the next step in the process.
The gaming room isn’t like your other rooms insofar as it has a bit of a theme to it so to speak.
That theme can lend itself to the painting of the walls as well, as you may want to go for not just painting the walls solid colors but adding characters from games you like, to remind people that they’re there to have a good time and play games!
These can be from video games or even whimsical characters from your board games – and if you’re really feeling creative, role playing games that may be enjoyed in the room!
As careful as you might be when you’re painting the walls of your gaming room, there’s always a chance that you’re going to have some paint spill or even fall when you’re moving the painting tray from one area to another.
This can come in the form of putting down protective drop cloths, for example, and making sure that they’re the sort that would not leak when paint falls on them – as that would be a bad thing!
The right kind of paint for any interior painting project is going to vary depending on the use of the room but when you’re looking to paint your gaming room you may want to get paint that is easier to clean.
This is because the likelihood that you will have perhaps things that could cause a mess on the wall in any form even if it’s in the form of food stains that can come on the wall… so you want to look out for glossy paint that’s easier to clean.
Since the room is going to have a certain style of furniture to it you should think about how your color or colors are going to coordinate with said furniture.
The thing to remember is not that it should be mathematically correct so to speak but rather – ask yourself if the color looks good to you with the furniture.
As mentioned above, surfaces have to dry quite well in order for you to go onto the next step of the painting process – and this is true even when you have just applied a coat of paint.
Timing your painting project is going to be important because you don’t want to just sit around staring at the walls dry.
Lastly, you have to make sure that you properly ventilate the room while you are painting.
This is because you are going to have noxious fumes coming from your paint and so they have to go somewhere… and even if you use low-VOC paint you should air out the room and not have it all concentrated in one place.
Open windows, open doors, whatever you can.
